Lonelywalker’s Ground Control is the place online to find current news about Tom, reviews, etc.
www.morphing-media.com/tom_mccamus/tom_gallery.htm Gothic Phantom’s site. The largest collection of Tom McCamus images online.
If it’s online somewhere, it’s listed here. An incredible collection of Mutant X information.
The Incomparable Mason Eckhart The oldest Mason Eckhart site I am aware of, but it does not appear to have been updated in well over a year. Emails go unanswered.
www.mutantx.net This is the official site, which appears semi-comatose. The faux websites are gone, alas, but the data is preserved if you know who to ask.
www.genomex.net has new management...
Electra’s Sanctuary Essays and screencaps. Still active. Some great stuff.
Sanctuary Rose AndreaE’s site; emphasis on RPG. AndreaE keeps changing site names and site addresses, sometimes within days. I cannot keep pace with them, but there always seem to be some out there. You’ll have to hunt.
The Feral Sisterhood An active board with emphasis on the kids.
Very many fansites have vanished, and most of what is left, well, isn’t what was. It’s bleaker out there than described:
MXLOS A general Mutant X site. Back up now after 5 weeks of “Imminent Arrival” and months of down time. Lots of promised content “under construction”.
There is a board associated with the above site-that-is-out-there someday. It’s happy-talk based, and you’d better not disagree with anyone lest you be damned as making trouble, and you’d better not accidentally post as a guest after you register. Question Psigen PRIVATELY, and you can get banned arbitrarily! Check your brains at the door, and you’ll be fine. They even have a member who TEACHES ENGLISH who says he can write standard English IF HE CONCENTRATES! If it’s happy-talk you want with lots of emotion and still more happy talk, this is the place: http://www.mxlos.org http://www.myfreebulletinboard.com/f2/mxlosboard.html
www.mutantxphoenix.com A general Mutant X site from the people who scuttled the PureMX.net site & who perceive an heroic rise from [self-inflicted!] destruction. Claimed repeated ‘hackings’ & unending self-congratulation continued for a while. About 6 months later, the site-killers began to disappear, and by the end of 2005, the site is largely comatose and the founders nowhere in sight. Some home page links have never worked in the 12 months they have been in place, and take one...somewhere else. [Huzzah, glorious “Tech Team”]
Save Mutant X A cult-like site supposedly promoting the resurrection of MX, but they don’t allow lurkers, and there are reports of registration approval taking 4 WEEKS! Not the way to promote a cause! Mostly they tell each other they are courageous because they want MX back. Tell them the tv business is like any other, and won’t indulge in money-losing projects, and they’ll tell you you are worse than Gollum! They aren’t really about MX, but assuring each other of mutually held fantasies. Instructive for students of cults.
http://s15.invisionfree.com/Fandomforall/index.php?act=idx Like strife? A forum that hits you between the eyes with a flashing banner “Please Read Rules Carefully” in huge letters? Rules that can be read 3 times without making any sense? A rule forbidding lurking, although you cannot read the forum without registering? Email from the 14 y o forum owner full of the f-word? Then “Fandom for All” may be for you as they ban and censor their way to happiness.
http://brennanmulwray.proboards53.com/index.cgi “Mutant X Wars”. If you really like unpleasant fans, and found “Fandom for All” too mild, try Mutant X Wars. It’s an outgrowth or efflorescence or stepchild of “Save Mutant X”, and is dedicated to scrapping over matters that aren’t even made clear. For students of cults, and of obsession with popular culture.
